Privacy Policy
Effective September 4, 2026
PhoneSync ("the app") is developed and operated by Halders, an individual developer, as a personal project. This policy explains what information PhoneSync collects, why, and how it's handled.
Information we collect
- Google account details. PhoneSync uses Google Sign-In. We receive your email address, display name, and profile photo URL from Google to identify your account — PhoneSync never sees or stores your Google password.
- Device information. Device model, Android version, and app version, so we can support the app and diagnose problems.
- A push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging), used to deliver sync events to your device.
- SMS and call event data you choose to sync. When you pair two devices, messages and call events from your Sender device are relayed to your Receiver device to provide the mirroring feature you've set up. This content is encrypted per connection and is not read, scanned, or retained by us beyond what's needed to deliver it.
- Contacts (read-only, on-device). Used only to help you autocomplete an email address when inviting a device to pair. Your contacts are not uploaded anywhere.
How we use this information
Solely to operate the app: authenticating you, pairing your devices, delivering sync events between the devices you've connected, and sending you push notifications related to those features. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Where data is stored
PhoneSync runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Realtime Database, and Cloud Functions). Your account and device records are stored in Firebase's Realtime Database under Google's infrastructure and access controls.
Advertising
The free version of PhoneSync may show ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob can collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, governed by Google's own privacy policy. You can remove ads entirely through the app's ad-free option.
Permissions the app requests
- SMS — to read and forward messages on a device set to Sender mode.
- Phone / call state — to detect and mirror call events, and to place or reject calls when you trigger those actions remotely.
- Contacts — for local email autocomplete only, as described above.
Data retention and deletion
Your PhoneSync record is kept for as long as your account is active. Deleting your Google account triggers automatic cleanup of your PhoneSync data. To request earlier deletion, contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
PhoneSync is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
